The Quebec Bridge (Canada) was built in 18 years. During this time, there were two accidents (1907, 1916). This animation only illustrates the construction of the second bridge that started in 1911, 4 years after the collapse of the first bridge.
The Quebec Bridge is a cantilever bridge (See eduMedia animation on the different types of bridges)
This technology for bridges has since been abandoned due to its high costs and heavy materials. Henceforth, the Quebec Bridge remains the cantilever bridge with the largest central span in the world.
